THE PROGRAM SOLUTION

We started our tour by traveling south, through Naples and past Mount Vesuvius to arrive in Sorrento, often referred to as the Gateway to the Amalfi Coast. Located on the Sorrentine Peninsula, Sorrento is perched atop cliffs on the coast which make for stunning views of the sea and unrivaled sunsets. After arriving at our accommodation that evening, they were free to explore the quaint downtown restaurants and shops.

The next morning, we departed for the island of Capri. Traveling by private boat transfer, we got our first look at the glistening blue waters and coastline. After a private boat cruise around the island and the chance to see the Blue Grotto, our 4.0 Tours guides will lead us up to the very top of the island. We stopped in Capri Town for a fresh-squeezed orange granita before reaching Anacapri where we had custom leather Italian sandals made while you sampling complimentary limoncello and chocolate. Students had the option to take the chair lift up to the very top of the island, Mount Solaro, for sweeping views (highly recommended!) We’ll travel back to Sorrento later that afternoon.

The following day we traveled to the coastal town of Positano, famous for the colorful stacked houses built into the cliffs. We traveled there by private cruise (weather permitting) and stopped at a secluded location for swimming. After arriving in Positano, we were free to spend your day on the black-sand beaches, shop the narrow streets for local souvenirs, or water sports equipment. Later that afternoon, we headed back to Sorrento for the evening.

On our last day of the program, we headed to our final destination, the world-famous ruins of Pompeii. We explored the UNESCO World Heritage site and experienced how the ancient ruins come alive as the tour guide painted a picture of daily life in the Roman city. We traveled back to the departure city later that afternoon.
