THE PROGRAM SOLUTION
After departing from Florence in private transportation, the students our on the ground staff arrive at the train station in La Spezia. From La Spezia, the group heads to their first stop Manarola Once in Manarola, students have the chance to explore the town or go down by the rocks to swim in the glittering blue waters. Manarola is home to the church of San Lorenzo which has been standing since 1338. Students have the opportunity to take in breathtaking views of the colorful stacked buildings. After exploring Manarola, the group will head to Vernazza, where they can try the famous seafood cones or pesto pizza for lunch, along with some great gelato. Vernazza is considered by many to be the most beautiful of the five towns. The Santa Margherita di Antiochia – St. Margaret of Antioch church from the 8th century is in Vernazza. The church offers the students a chance to see Roman-Genovese style architecture.
After having a local authentic lunch and exploring the town the students begin their hike to Monterosso al Mare. During their hike to Monterosso al Mare, the students are embraced by nature and beautiful views.
Once they arrive in Monterosso al Mare, which is the last of the five towns, they have the chance to unwind and relax at the beach. After spending a couple of hours at the beach under the afternoon sun, they make their way back to the train station in La Spezia from where they are taken back to Florence by private transportation.
